As we said before, Cryptids come in different forms and one thing that make them different from each other is their Prime element. Every single Cryptid has an assigned Prime element from birth that it got from its mother of father and following other games of the genre this elements affect on fighting advantages and weakness but not only that.
Unlike other games of the genre the Prime element wont be connected to the monster species, you could have 7 Tyrants, one of each type! Their elements will affect behavior and capabilities, so you could have very different Cryptids of the same species.
Do not mix body types with species, every species fit in one of the 5 body type categories and they are: Beast, Bipedal, Serpant, Special and Spheroid. This body type groups will determine if two Cryptids can breed with each other (even from different species) and it will also affect their stats.
At launch we plan to start with 5 species, one for each body group, but we'll be launching new species as the game continues, each different from each other.
As they are virtual pets they need to be tended from time to time, cryptids have to eat, poop and play to have their life needs fulfilled.
In CryptoTamers every Cryptid has different needs, some will be vegetarian such as Cryptids from Plant and Air types, some will only eat meat like Metal and Fire types. Some will be able to farm berries while other may farm fish, check your monsters id card, it will tell its preferences and quirks.
A grumpy, hungry, sad Cryptid will not be able to battle, if it joins the Arena its chances of winning are severely diminished.
